Sales Professional Heidelberg Kentucky

When it comes to the differences between beverage laws in Ohio and in Kentucky, Heidelberg Kentucky Sales Pro Bryan Jaworski is well versed. He began his sales career at Ohio Valley Wine & Beer in 2008, working as a wine sales pro for six years before moving to Kentucky and taking a position with Heidelberg on a sales route in Lexington.

“My then fiancé now wife Maria, was working at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, which is why I moved down,” says Bryan. “I relocated in February of 2014 and in May we got married.”

Due to the increased foot traffic in his largely off premise accounts, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bryan experienced record sales on his route in 2020. “I was able to take advantage of the increase in business with off premise accounts thanks to the assistance I got from my Lexington teammates,” said Bryan. “I received a lot of help with them chipping in to merchandise my larger stores during the shutdown back in March/April.”

‘Teamwork’ is one of Heidelberg’s core values and Bryan’s experience in 2020 is just another example of how Associates have pitched in to get the job done. “It has been a challenging year for sure,” Bryan said. “Trying to balance health and safety while serving all of my accounts is something that you just have to do. I wear a mask to stay safe and use hand sanitizer after every visit to an account.”

The one thing that did not change for Bryan in 2020 and will keep going into the new year is the diversity of his accounts and his need to be knowledgeable about the products he is selling. “We have a great portfolio in Kentucky and it’s paramount that I know our products,” says Bryan. “I need to be an expert in spirits, wine and beer. Depending on which account I am going into I need to put on the ‘beer, wine or spirits hat’ so I can get my customers what they need. Each account is totally different.”

While based out of Lexington, his territory doesn’t end at the city limits. Bryan’s sales route is widespread throughout central Kentucly and extends all the way south to the Tennessee border. “Due to the size of my route, I’ve got specific days and times for where I go and when I visit accounts,” Bryan says. “I can’t possible cover it all in a day, so I really have to divide and conquer.”

When he is not covering central Kentucky, Bryan and Maria enjoy traveling. Recent trips include the Dominican Republic and Greece. Working in the health care industry, she has also had an interesting year dealing with the COVID pandemic. “As a nurse it has been a challenging year for her as well,” Bryan said. “While working full time at the hospital she got her master’s degree in nursing over the summer, from Indiana Wesleyan. Unfortunately, due to COVID, there was no graduation ceremony.”
