Heidelberg Associate Bo Hammons graduated from Wright State University with a degree in Accounting. While he has dealt with plenty of numbers in his 22-year career at Heidelberg Distributing, it hasn’t been in the accounting department, it’s been as a Sales Professional with the Allied Wine division.

“Coming out of college, I needed a job and I had a friend that worked at Allied,” Bo recalls. “I began as a merchandiser working with Clearly Canadian and about six months later I moved into wine sales.”

Bo jumped into wine sales with both feet and hasn’t looked back. Beginning as a guy that began work with a wine distributor because he “needed a job” coming out of college, Bo has learned wine and the business of wine as he has progressed through his career. He holds a Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) designation and will soon be testing for his Certified Wine Educator (CWE) designation.

In his two decades plus on the job, there has been a lot that has changed in the wine business and in the sales business. One thing for Bo that hasn’t changed is his relationship with his customers. “It’s still about relationships,” Bo says. “It has always been about relationships and great customer service. I take care of my customers the best I can. If that means I need to drive something out on a Saturday morning to an account, that’s what I do. I still continue to work hard and try to improve in the business everyday.”

In his spare time, Bo enjoys spending time with his family and vacationing and boating at Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee. Bo and his wife Darla have been married for 23 years and they have two grown children.
