VIP Major Upgrade to V16: Over the weekend of March 20, 2021, we upgraded VIP to version V16, giving us the latest programs, tools, and features that VIP has to offer. Thank you to all the Teams that worked hard in testing to ensure a successful rollout

EDI move to FTP: Over the weekend of March 20, 2021, we started to utilize File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for processing our EDI files. This allows users to transfer EDI files automatically without having to manually upload and download physical files to a portal.  This also gives us improved scalability, increased security with a more robust EDI infrastructure

Beverage on the Web Role Restructure: We have been reformatting the roles in VIP Beverage on the Web cleaning up permissions for current users based on job title to strengthen security and ensure users have the access to perform their job

Microsoft Teams: Deploying Microsoft Teams, an Office 365 communication software to improve communication within Heidelberg Distributing.
Currently pilot testing in Cincinnati and Dayton with the other locations to go live shortly thereafter.

Asset Refresh: Utilizing asset lifecycle management to systematically drive efficiency through performance, flexibility, and cost management. Quarter 2 refresh for Columbus, Cleveland, Ohio Valley, and Youngstown.

Easy Ops / Easy Pick: A new browser-based VIP tool to perform daily warehouse tasks with a UPC scan-to-print system. Currently being tested in Columbus, Dayton, and Lorain.

Heidelberg Applications: Heidelberg generated applications that are being developed to help the performance of the Supply Chain and Pricing Teams. Transfer Application to track transfers between locations. Pricing Application to automate extraction of pricing and costing data from VIP in real time.

Change your status in Microsoft Teams 

If you want to make sure people know when you’re busy or away  from your desk, set your status in Teams. The little dot on your profile indicates if you’re available or not. Teams will automatically set the status in some cases, like when you’re in a call. To explicitly set it yourself, go to your profile at the top of Teams and select one from the list.
