→ Every Friday we salute an Associate who demonstrates our core values by posting his or her photo and background on Heidelberg’s social media channels Facebook and Twitter. Congratulations to these Associates who were featured in July:

Nick Padgett moved from the accounts payable department where he was profit controller to join the corporate accounting team. He began training for his new position as staff accountant on July 1 and will be based in Cincinnati.

→ Rob Wantlinrecently joined the company as Corporate AR Manager. He works out of the Dayton facility. New profit analyst Victoria Mercado also joined the Corporate Administration team last month and works in Cleveland.

→ PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE e-blasts in August will highlight new items from our beer, wine and spirits portfolios. We will learn about Fall and Oktoberfest beers in September.

→ Heidelberg was mentioned in a story in the Youngstown Business Journalabout L’uva Bella winery as the distributor handling the brand everywhere in Ohio outside of the Cleveland-Youngstown area. L’uva is undergoing a $1 million expansion in its Lowellville, Ohio home thanks to the popularity of the RedHead wine brand.

→ Congratulations to Nick Howrey, who has been promoted to Kentucky pricing lead. Nick has worked as Kentucky’s pricing administrator, a role he will continue while picking up new duties for the corporate pricing department.

→ Heidelberg received a shout-out in The Delphos Heraldin July when the newspaper featured a story about the September 19 Delphos Canal Days. Our wines will be showcased during part of the festivities called a “Toast to the City.”

→ Sales Professional of the month for May included Sara Campbell, Berman; Dustin Irwin, Beer; and Jaclyn Hady, Wine.   

→ Sales Professionals of the month for June were Jamie Irwin, Berman; and Marty Baird, Beer.

→ Toledo’s 2019 Associate Celebration was held on June 19 with milestone anniversaries front and center. Congratulations to everyone who had their names displayed on a huge banner for years of service: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30! Associates enjoyed Rosie’s Rolling Chef food truck and Eric’s Ice Cream Factory, along with a friendly competition of corn hole. This year also featured the “Big 6 Wheel” to raise money for supplies for the Dayton tornado victims.

Buzz from Dayton

 Heidelberg was recognized in an article in the Dayton Daily Newsfor helping organize an inaugural event called “Rosé All DAYton,” a picnic-style festival to be held August 3 at the historic Patterson Homestead. The popularity of Rosé inspired this fund-raiser which also includes Rosé Cider, Rosé Beer and Michelob Ultra dyed pink for the day.


Buzz from Wine Trends

Welcome Joel Sandrey who has joined Wine Trends as Director of Sales, North. Joel worked in wine distribution from 1997 through 2009 and then joined Chalet Debonne’ Vineyards as the Director of Sales and Marketing/Sommelier. Chalet Debonne’ Vineyards also owns Double Wing Brewery where Joel was Co-Owner and Director. Joel will work out of the Cleveland office and be responsible for Cleveland, Akron, Lorain and Youngstown markets.
