4th of July Drink of Choice
In a June poll of 1,000 American adults, 3-in-4 said they planned to serve or enjoy a beer as part of their July 4thcelebration. Traditionally the most popular holiday for beer sales, the Beer Institute released the findings saying that beer is twice as popular as any other alcohol beverage: 64% of Americans said they planned to drink beer while 37% would choose wine and 32% would choose liquor. The Beer Institute is a trade organization representing brewers of all sizes as well as beer importers and industry suppliers.
Pilsners: “An Elegant Outlier”
Digital publication Vinepairrecently ran a story called “Pilsners are an elegant outlier to the craft beer hype machine.” The writer predicts that despite the dominance and popularity of stronger-flavored styles such as IPAs, Stouts and Sours, Pilsners will soon emerge as a factor in craft beer sales. One big reason: Consumers understand that Pilsners have a clean, crisp taste with much less alcohol (usually around 5% ABV), allowing them to enjoy more rounds in a drinking session.
