→ The Great Adventure Walking Challenge through Wellworks took place June 8 through July 8, with Associates embarking on a 4-week individual virtual walking challenge at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon on the Arizona Trail. From there they journeyed  along the North Kaibab Trail, Bright Angel Trail, and Kachina Trail, before finishing at the Prescott National Forest Congrats to all the Associates who participated in the challenge and cheers to the top five Associates!

→ Kentucky Special Events Manager Beer Dave Gausepohl was the quiz master for another round of beer themed trivia on July 9. “Froth of July” trivia featured US-themed beer trivia and explored the beer category on a broad level. Congrtulations to the winners for this event! First Place: Director of Revenue Management Tom McNally, Second Place: Associate Director of Creative Services, Dennis Cook and Third Place: Graphic Designer, Mary Beth Brackmann.

→ Team Youngstown opened up new accounts in the market and continues to be the Customers Number One Choice, and the Distributor to rely on in the Market Place.

→ We bid farewell to Greg Endsley who has been with us since April 18th of 1998. Let us all raise a Pint Glass and wish Greg a Happy Retirement.

LORAIN

LORAIN COUNTY SAW ITS SECOND MEIJER LOCATION OPEN IN JULY. THIS LOCATION WAS IN THE CITY OF LORAIN. CELEBRATING THE GRAND OPENING WERE (L TO R) TONY GALLO, LORAIN COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT, TWO MEMBERS OF THE MEIJER MANAGEMENT TEAM AND HEIDELBERG LORAIN EXECUTIVE VP AND GM KEVIN KNIGHT.

DAYTON

→ Employee Spotlights for July were 4-year Associate Justin Schaffer, Forklift Operator; Nick Burns, 2-year Class A Driver and Robert Garner, Order Processor, who started with the company in November of 2019.

 

 

 

→ Connie Wethington has retired after 20 years with Heidelberg Distributing. Connie worked in the Accounts Payable Department.


OHIO VALLEY

→ On July 2 OV was facing one of the biggest nights in the history of the company. Down six night shift employees Operations Manager Scott Rheude put a call out to the sales teams for assistance. With the help of Beer GSM DJ Homan and DMs, Angie Bartos, Seth BullockSteve ForsterNick GaveyLauren RiegelSteve Shepard and Nate Slone, who came in and helped pull product that night and then again the next morning to help pull some more, the trucks were loaded up and deliveries were made! That is great teamwork in action!!


CLEVELAND

→ Just because everyone is social distancing doesn’t mean that tradition goes out the window. The annual “Sutter Home Build A Better Burger” still took place, but this year it was done quarantine style. Each of the Cleveland markets DM’s teams competed for “Best Burger” and “Best Family Photo.”
