SCOTT RHEUDE
Operations Manager Ohio Valley
What is your background and career path at Heidelberg?
I started with the company on nightshift as a hand loader on February 15, 1990 and reached my 30 years with the company this year! I became operations manager at Ohio Valley in 2017. Being named to my current position and celebrating 30 years have been major milestones while being employed at Heidelberg Distributing!
What are your job responsibilities and priorities?
In my current roll as operations manager at Ohio Valley, I manage all the drivers and warehouse employees along with the day to day of operations.
Any recent accomplishments or notable projects from you/your team?
This year we took on the project of re-racking the warehouse. With the pandemic going on and managing everything involved with that, this project was definitely a big challenge. The team at OV did a great job!
Who do you interact with on a regular basis – suppliers, retailers, management, HDC “wheel” teams?
In the operations department there are many moving parts. The Associates that I work with every day: the drivers, day and night crew, Ohio Valley GM Brian Cunningham and our sales leadership as well as my fellow operations managers throughout the company.
What alcohol beverage trends are you seeing?
Over the past year we have seen the emergence of White Claw. It has really taken over. It is the #1 seltzer in the market, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger!
How has the business and/or company changed since you joined Heidelberg?
The business side has changed a lot with all the new technology. We have moved from handwritten load sheets for the warehouse to load trucks and handwriting invoices for retail accounts to a fully integrated system called Voice Pick. The technology has made us faster and more efficient.
How do you like to spend time when you’re away from work (family/hobbies)?
I love spending my spare time on my boat, camping with the family, playing golf and spending time with my grand baby.
