→ We are now distributing Saucy Brew Works in 79 Ohio counties! The Cleveland-area brewery announced our state-wide partnership in November. Its brewery and tasting room are located in Ohio City, with plans to open a tasting room in Columbus in January. Selections we launched include: IPA ASAP (American India Pale Ale); Habituale (Kölsch Style Golden Ale); Love You, Bye (Hazy Imperial IPA); and Three Hos (Christmas Ale). Crain’s Cleveland Business reported our new partnership November 19.

Buzz from Toledo

→ Congratulations to Eric Terwilliger who was promoted to Fine Wine Manager in September. Eric joined Heidelberg four years ago as a sales professional and previously worked in the industry and in the Toledo market as a sales professional with Glazer’s. Eric is a graduate of the University of Toledo with a degree in Business and Communications. He and his wife Renee have been married for three years.

→ Congratulations to Mike Grant, an eight-year Associate, who recently was promoted to Berman Wine District Manager. Prior to joining the company Mike worked with one of Heidelberg’s independent retail customers. He is a 2003 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and has a 10-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son.

Jarrod Demski has been promoted to Customer Development Manager for the Toledo market, a position he begins on January 1. Jarrod will celebrate his 25-year anniversary with Heidelberg in February of 2020. He began as a sales professional in 1995, working in that role for 12 years before being promoted to retail district manager. Jarrod also served as an on premise district manager. Prior to joining Heidelberg, Jarrod was a grocery manager at a Toledo area store where he worked with then district manager and current Heidelberg VP of Sales and Marketing Bob Bilius! He is a proud graduate of the University of Toledo. Jarrod and his wife Cheryl have been married for 13 years and have three children: Lucas (11), Sophia (9) and Landon (6).

Cincinnati Associates were treated to a Holiday “Lunch & Learn” on November 5, which included a holiday buffet, a wine tasting session led by Fine Wine Manager Stacey Meyer, and the annual recognition of several Associates who celebrated milestone anniversaries. Wine GSM Rob Owens and on premise fine wine district manager Kyle Beasmore assisted Stacey with the standing-room only crowd!

LORAIN SALES PROFESSIONAL VAL THAYER PULLED OFF ANOTHER GREAT EVENT ON OCT 26 DURING THE PORT CLINTON HALLOWEEN PUB CRAWL AND BALL. SHE PUT TOGETHER A WHITE CLAW PUB CRAWL WITH SIX BARS PARTICIPATING. LEFT-TO-RIGHT ARE VAL, GRAPHIC DESIGNER NICHOL WEST AND ON PREMISE MANAGER MEGHAN MILLER.

→ Lorain’s Southern sales team got together for a “friendly” game of bowling led by district manager Paul Kanz. Team Parsons (Kris, Kyle, Rob, Matt) smoked Team Lovely (Connie, Nate, Paul, Mark) with its two-game total of 1,105 vs. 898. Matt on Team Parsons bowled a high game of 226 while Paul bowled a high game on Team Lovely of 175.

Buzz from Dayton

→ Congratulations to Ryan Moore who has been promoted to Day Operations Manager. Ryan began working for the Heidelberg Family of Companies at Ohio Valley upon his graduation from the University of Cincinnati in 2011. In 2012, he was one of the Associates selected to help Heidelberg Kentucky move into its new facility and current location in Hebron. Ryan again was called on to help in another facility move when Dayton moved into the Dryden Road facility in 2013. Prior to his new position, Ryan served as an Inventory Manager in the Dayton Warehouse. He is a graduate of Kettering-Fairmont High School and his family includes wife Ashlee and son Hayden.

→ Dayton Associates who served in the military were invited to a Veterans Day breakfast with guest speaker Dr. Cassie Barlow. Dr. Barlow, former 88th Air Base Wine and Installation Commander at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, shared experiences she had during her time as Commander: those who were lost and wounded under her watch, and what Veteran’s Day means to her. Our team of Vets crossed all departments of the company!

→ Quintessa Wine Dinner at Cru Uncorked will be held on December  5 at 6:30 p.m. The dinner includes six vintages of this Napa Valley legend, including the introduction of the blockbuster 2016 vintage!

→ On October 16 the Wine Trends team held a “Meet and Greet” luncheon at Rocky River Wine Bar and dinner at Chez Francois with Doug Shafer, President of Shafer Wines.
