TO ALL ASSOCIATES,

Early Sunday morning, August 5than act of unspeakable evil took place in the Oregon District in Dayton, Ohio. A gunman opened fire killing nine people and injuring 27 more. The reaction by Dayton Police was nothing short of exemplary. Within 30 seconds of the first shots being fired, Dayton’s finest were able to neutralize the threat and keep more innocent people from being injured or worse.

The Oregon District is a special place in our hometown. It’s an area of restaurants, bars and other businesses where our sales professionals and delivery drivers do business every day. The men and women who own, run and work at the establishments in the district are not only our customers but they are also our friends and neighbors.

As a company we will continue to have a presence in the Oregon District. Our sales professionals will stop by to service their accounts and our delivery drivers will continue to bring our products to the district. As individuals we will continue to frequent our favorite places where we have all spent time after hours and outside of work.

Heidelberg has always made it our mission to be good community partners in the cities where we do business and make our homes. The company has made a $25,000 donation to the Oregon District Tragedy Fund. Set up by the Dayton Foundation, this fund will benefit families directly affected by the Oregon District Shooting.

This tragic event is not one that we will soon forget but we cannot let it define our city. We encourage everyone in the Miami Valley to continue to support the businesses in the Oregon District. Be good to one another and continue to be #DaytonStrong.
